Purpose
The All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Medical Cannabis Under Prescription exists to:
“Promote the importance of medical cannabis for patients in the UK. Raise awareness of the industry and its contribution to economic growth and employment. Work with government and regulators to build understanding of how cannabis-based medicines can be safely integrated into existing medical frameworks.”
Formed in July 2018, the Group provides a cross-party forum for Parliamentarians to engage with clinicians, patients, researchers, and industry experts on the future of medical cannabis access in the UK.
The APPG meets regularly to discuss progress on patient access, prescribing, research, and regulation, and to hear evidence from experts, patients, and practitioners.
