Why support the Society?

Medical cannabis is a rapidly developing area of medicine, yet many clinicians receive little or no training on the subject during their medical education. The Medical Cannabis Clinicians Society exists to close that knowledge gap and support the growing community of medical cannabis clinicians and prescribers in the UK and internationally.

  • Develop independent clinical guidance and practical medical cannabis prescribing resources
  • Deliver CPD-accredited medical cannabis education and training for clinicians
  • Host webinars, events and expert discussions on emerging evidence in cannabis-based medicines
  • Provide a peer support network for medical cannabis prescribers and healthcare professionals
  • Create educational programmes for new and future cannabis medicine clinicians
  • Expand access to reliable, evidence-based information on medical cannabis treatments

With the right education and support, clinicians can make informed decisions and deliver the highest standards of patient care for patients accessing cannabis-based medicinal products (CBPMs).

An independent, non-profit organisation

The Society operates as an independent, not-for-profit organisation. Our work is driven by clinicians and guided by the needs of our members and the wider medical cannabis healthcare community.

We do not promote specific products or companies. Our independence allows us to provide impartial education, guidance and professional support to doctors, pharmacists, nurses and other healthcare professionals working with medical cannabis.

Funding received from supporters is used to develop and deliver medical cannabis education, clinical guidance, events and peer support for prescribing clinicians. Through our CIC status, all such income is protected by an asset lock, ensuring that surpluses are used exclusively to benefit our community of clinicians.

Our work ensures medical cannabis prescribers and healthcare professionals in the UK and overseas have access to the knowledge, training and resources required to practise safely and responsibly.
