Are you looking for expert advice...

Clinics listed here have formally signed up to the MCCS Principles of Good Practice for prescribing medical cannabis – the framework regulators expect to see applied in this field.

We are regularly approached by patients, carers and referrers seeking recommendations for clinics and doctors. By publishing this list, we hope to provide a clear and trusted resource that makes those choices simpler, safer and more transparent.

These principles ensure that prescribing is:

  • Safe and defensible – supported by peer review, clear documentation, and outcome tracking.
  • Ethical – avoiding commercial conflicts, protecting patient choice, and promoting transparency.
  • Patient-centred – with thorough consultation standards, careful titration, and ongoing monitoring.
  • Regulator-ready – aligned with the requirements of the GMC, CQC, MHRA and relevant NHS bodies.

Why Good Practice Matters

Since medical cannabis was legalised in 2018, prescribing has expanded through private practice, but practices have varied. The MCCS Principles of Good Practice provide the clear, consistent foundation regulators look for – giving both patients and prescribers confidence.

By signing up, clinics show that they meet the highest standards for safety, governance and accountability. For patients and referrers, it is the strongest signal of a trusted clinic.

Each January, the Society will publish an updated list of Committed to Good Practice Clinics, confirming that annual checks have been completed. This ensures transparency, accountability, and credibility for both clinics and patients.

Sign up to the Principles of Good Practice

By signing up, clinics show regulators, patients and clinicians that they meet the accepted standard in the UK.

Participating clinics will:

  • Be listed on the MCCS website as a Committed to Good Practice Clinic.
  • Receive the official Committed to Good Practice logo for use on their website and materials.
  • Be included in the annual published list each January, following compliance checks.
